Technical PLM Consultant

Position Location – Orange, CA

The vdR Group is seeking a talented Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) Business Consultant to work with our key customers in order to define and design customized and configured solutions for their PLM processes. This individual will work directly with customers to understand their PLM needs and provide solutions built on Aras Innovator. This role will include Business Development activities including defining ROI and Scope of Work Development.

Qualifications:

  • Ability to analyze Customer requirements and design solutions to address Customer business scenarios within the defined scope
  • Strong communication (verbal and written), and interpersonal skills as well as strong planning and organization skills.
  • Develop and document data/object model to meet customer requirements
  • Ensure that quality software engineering processes and agile practices are followed
  • Demonstrated experience in implementing PLM solutions
  • Knowledge of the entire Product Lifecycle beyond engineering in roles such as Change Management, Quality, Compliance (Industry, Environmental), Manufacturing, Facilities, Supply Chain and Field Service.
  • Knowledge of state-of-the-art engineering and manufacturing best practices such as Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing
  • Ability to be highly effective in a matrix management organization
  • Functional Knowledge of supply chain management, distribution, manufacturing, quality and product lifecycle management.
  • Domain knowledge of Data management within the MCAD/ mechanical engineering/ manufacturing industry strongly desired
  • Knowledge of SaaS models or Cloud based technology

Experience:

  • 4-year degree from an accredited institution in Business, Marketing or Engineering; or equivalent experience; MBA preferred
  • 5 to 10 years of experience in a fast-paced high-performing global service delivery environment.
  • 5-10 years experience in the PLM domain.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with customers to determine breadth and depth of PLM needs
  • Analyze Customer requirements and contribute to the configuration
  • Produce written specifications to capture business requirements for proposed solutions and configuration activities
  • Development of system architectures and system planning
  • Participate in all phases of implementation projects
  • Deliver customized and configured solutions on top of Aras and vdR core products in the manufacturing domain
  • Establishes credibility at all levels with clients and builds problem-solving partnerships with clients and colleagues
  • Identify business requirements, functional design, process design (workflow mapping) testing and training
  • Contribute to The vdR Groups IP and assets through methods development and sales collateral

Relevant Skills:

  • Domain knowledge of engineering, and the use commercial PLM/Data Management tools
  • Experience with Javascript and related scripting processes
  • Domain knowledge of manufacturing industry
  • Familiarity with other non-aras applications such as Dassault ENOVIA, Siemens PLM, Arena, Aras, Autodesk PLM360, Teamcenter and PTC Windchill.
  • Functional Knowledge of supply chain management, distribution, manufacturing, quality and product lifecycle management.
  • Ability to Analyze Customer Requirements and map to solutions
  • Middleware/Integration knowledge including ERP, CRM

Relevant Domain Expertise:

  • Advanced BOM & Configuration Management
  • Extensive knowledge of advanced Bill of Material management, Variants and related methodologies.
  • Extensive knowledge of process related BOM views such as engineering, manufacturing, sales and service.
  • Knowledge of configuration management techniques and standards including CMII, Lean Manufacturing principles, ixed discipline BOM management including mechanical, electrical and software components

Professional Skills:

  • Excellent vision and imagination. Ability to pull multiple products into a coherent solution for the customer
  • Proven ability to facilitate and document process discussions
  • Proven ability to design, develop and test workflows for and implement practical business solutions.
  • Adept at understanding and documenting current state processes within the PLM area (quality, etc) and creates business process models
  • Demonstrated/ proven/ excellent customer service skills working with multinational key customers
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent skills in resolving customer problems with an “out of the box” and a “can do” approach
