Aras Requirements Engineering: Making Requirements Part of the Digital Thread

Having the ability to establish and maintain traceability of requirements to all system, design, testing and manufacturing data throughout the product’s lifecycle is critical to managing Digital Thread and Digital Twin. It is critical to managing ever-increasing product complexity.

Aras Innovator Quality Management Demo

The Aras Quality Management System (QMS) applications includes Quality Planning (proactive) and Quality Systems (reactive) to provide organizations with comprehensive quality management capabilities. QMS enables quality professionals to manage product quality throughout the lifecycle of the product.

Quality Planning is composed of features for proactive quality management traditionally done during the product development. Planning features include failure mode effects analysis (FMEA) capabilities to manage risk, improve quality, and attain environmental, regulatory, safety, medical, and other forms of compliance. The capability allows you to use Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) to control risks and mitigate critical product risks, deploy FMEA processes to achieve compliance with regulatory requirements and quality standards including TS/16949, AS9100, FDA QSR, manage libraries of critical characteristics, failure modes, effects, and control mechanisms, utilize ISO-compliant process flows to drive cross-functional collaboration, and create dashboards, scorecards, KPI metrics, and reports to track your project’s status.

Quality Systems addresses the challenge of quickly responding to quality issues and communicating change requirements enterprise-wide. QP includes closed-loop corrective action/preventive action (CAPA) features to accelerate identification, containment, and analysis of issues, and tracking of affected items. Identified issues are analyzed with a variety of Root Cause Analysis tools including fault tree analysis, fishbone analysis, and five whys. To ensure that issues are tracked and your teams are in the loop, QS provides 8D reporting and CAPA metrics (% closed, % due).

Together Quality Planning and Quality Systems constitute Aras Quality Management System, a closed loop, through lifecycle application for quality management professionals. Like all Aras applications, QMS is built on our Open, Flexible, Scalable, and Upgradable PLM Platform allowing organizations to tailor their business processes to their specific requirements with guaranteed confidence. Customer value is enhanced with additional platform capabilities such as quality review through Visual Collaboration, business rules and workflow, and aggregation and packaging of CAP items

Visual Collaboration in Aras Innovator

When it comes to product development, technologies for working together remotely require context, security, and traceability. Aras Innovator offers built-in Visual Collaboration--a discussion-thread style user experience associated with any item in the system and supported by a central experience for all discussions, mentions, and product updates throughout the system.

Pervasive Simulation in a PLM Platform

See how simulation can be implemented across entire product lifecycle using Aras PLM Platform. This allows simulation studies to be part of Digital Thread and span interdisciplinary implementation details.
